How to sign up for OKX:

From opening the sign-up page to passing identity verification in about five minutes. Everything happens on okx.com — just remember to check that the referral code reads OK66688.
What you need before you start
- An email address or phone number you’ll keep long-term — it receives your verification codes.
- A valid government ID — passport, national ID or driver’s licence, not expired, photographed without glare.
- A smartphone — the face scan needs a front camera, and the app is the easiest way to log in later.
The referral code is locked in at the moment you register. Sign up via the referral link first, then install the app — that order makes it almost impossible to miss the code.
Option 1: sign up on the website
- Open okx.com/join/OK66688 and confirm the domain is okx.com.
- Choose “Email” or “Phone” and enter your details (pick the right country code).
- Check the “Referral code (optional)” field shows OK66688; type it if it’s empty.
- Create a password with 8–32 characters including upper-case, lower-case letters and a number.
- Accept the terms, click “Sign up” and enter the 6-digit code you receive.
- Go to your profile and start identity verification.

Option 2: sign up in the OKX app
- Install the app from an official source (see OKX app download).
- Open it and tap “Sign up”.
- Enter your email or phone, then tap “Referral code” to expand the field and enter OK66688.
- Complete the slider check and verification code, then set a password.
- Go to Profile → Verification to complete KYC.
The referral field in the app is collapsed by default — that’s where most people miss it. Expand it and check before you tap continue.
How OKX identity verification (KYC) works
Verification unlocks deposits, trading and withdrawals, and protects your account. The process:
- Open “Verification”, choose your ID’s issuing country and document type.
- Photograph the front and back: all four corners visible, no glare, text readable.
- Do the face scan in good light, without hat or glasses, following the prompts.
- Wait for review — typically minutes to a few hours. You’ll be notified in the app and by email.
Only submit documents inside the official OKX app or website. Anyone asking you to send ID photos by chat or email is a scammer.
Four things to do in your first 10 minutes
- Turn on an authenticator app (2FA) for logins, withdrawals and security changes.
- Set an anti-phishing code — genuine OKX emails will show it; anything without it is fake.
- Enable the withdrawal address whitelist so funds can only go to addresses you’ve approved.
- Open the Rewards Center for the new-user Mystery Box and tasks.

01What do I need to sign up for OKX?
You must be at least 18, with an email address or phone number you use regularly and a valid government ID (passport, national ID card or driver’s licence — accepted types vary by country). One person can verify one account.
02I’m not receiving the OKX verification code. What should I do?
For SMS, check the country code and that your phone isn’t blocking messages, then wait 60 seconds and retry. For email, check spam and add OKX’s official sender to your contacts. If it keeps failing, switch to the other method or contact OKX live chat.
03OKX says my region isn’t supported. What now?
OKX does not provide services in some countries and regions. Check the OKX Terms of Service for the current list and follow your local laws — this site does not offer ways around regional restrictions.
04The referral code says it’s invalid.
Check for extra spaces and make sure you typed the letters O and K, not zeros: OK66688. The simplest fix is to open okx.com/join/OK66688, which fills it in automatically.
05How long does OKX identity verification take?
Usually a few minutes to a few hours. Rejections are mostly due to glare, blurry photos, mismatched details or poor lighting during the face scan — retake and resubmit.
06Can I register with someone else’s ID?
No. The account must belong to the person on the ID. Using someone else’s identity breaks OKX rules and may leave you unable to recover funds.
07Email or phone — which is better for sign-up?
Either works. Add both after registering and turn on an authenticator app so you can always recover the account.
