The discount is bound to your account at sign-up and applies to the fees you actually pay. Higher VIP tiers get lower base rates; rates and discounts can change — the OKX fee page is the final word.
Maker vs taker, in plain English
- Maker: you place a limit order that waits in the order book until someone trades with it. You’re adding liquidity, so the fee is lower.
- Taker: your order fills immediately against an existing one — a market order, or a limit order priced through the book. Higher fee.
Example: BTC trades at 60,000 USDT. A buy limit at 59,900 waiting for a dip is a maker order; buying at market is a taker order.
Four ways to cut your OKX fees
- Register with OK66688: set once, 20% off for life — the easiest win.
- Use limit orders: maker fees are 20–60% lower than taker fees.
- Climb VIP tiers: higher 30-day volume or balances lower your base rate automatically.
- Trade less often: fees are charged per fill — churning adds up fast.

Fees
FAQ.
01What are OKX trading fees?
Regular (Lv1) users pay 0.08% maker / 0.10% taker on spot, and 0.02% maker / 0.05% taker on perpetual and dated futures. Registering with OK66688 takes 20% off. Rates can change — check the OKX fee page.
02What’s the difference between maker and taker?
A maker places an order that doesn’t fill immediately, adding liquidity to the order book, and pays a lower fee. A taker fills against an existing order — like a market order — and pays a higher fee.
03Does OKX charge deposit or withdrawal fees?
On-chain deposits are generally free. Withdrawals carry a network fee that depends on the coin and network — choose the right network and send a small test first.
04Does OKX charge fees on P2P trades?
OKX P2P usually charges regular buyers and sellers no trading fee; your cost is mainly the merchant’s price versus the market price. Check the order page.
05How can I pay the lowest fees on OKX?
Register with a referral code for the 20% discount, use limit (maker) orders, reach higher VIP tiers as your volume grows, and avoid over-trading.
